I went down to Valencia to visit my best friends from college Kim and Erin and meet their new baby boys Cooper and Drake. Kim and Erin gave birth to the boys about a week apart and their two oldest Kinsley and Drew are only about a month apart. It's so fun to see the Kollmann's and the Penberthy's with their new additions. The babies are so cute and so good. My pictures do not do there cuteness factor justice.
Cooper and Drake
The weekend was so busy and of course 2 1/2 days is not enough time with your best friends but it was so awesome because we filled every moment making new memories and laughing and playing with the kids and eating and swimming. One of my favorites was laughing at their husbands Chris and Joey whom I also went to college with. Even though we're all grown up now at times it still felt like we were back in college again hanging out.....just with 4 kids added to the mix.
The Dads with their kiddos
The girls and kidsMy last night there we walked to one of the best frozen yogurt places I have ever been to (it's like pinkberry, which I guess is all the rage in LA) and we met up with the Penberthy family and the Fillmore's. I was so glad because it gave me more time to see my friend Wendy and her kids. Wendy and I went to high school and college together and I looked up to her so much in college and post college. She's given me lots of wisdom over the years. It was also cool to see my friend Kurt with his newborn baby girl.
It's so good to be with friends, the kind of friends who know you inside and out and can make you laugh harder than anyone else can because they have the same sense of humor as you. It's good to be with friends who always point you to the Lord and will be honest with you over trying to tell you what you want to hear. It's good to be with friends who love their husbands and their kids and to see their husbands love them. That's what you always want for your friends to have....husbands who make them more complete.
